If you’re anything like us, you find a way to incorporate cheese into each and every meal. We recently paid a visit to Flint Hill Farm to learn how to make our own cheese, and even had time to befriend some of the goats!
Flint Hill Farm Educational Center, Inc. is located on Flint Hill Farm, 26-acre preserved farm in Lehigh County, PA. The multifaceted Agro-Educational facility is actively expanding its programs to meet the educational and nutritional needs of the rapidly growing region and promote the awareness of being good stewards of our land, water, and air.
In addition to cheese making classes, Flint Hill Farm also offers an on-site dairy where you can purchase purchase fresh, raw Jersey cow or Alpine goat milk, yogurts, artisan cow and goat cheeses, and pastured eggs. For a unique experience, check out their farm stay offerings where you can experience what life is like on the farm. While there, visiting “farmers” collect their own eggs for breakfast, help milk the cows and goats, assist with the feeding and handling of the horses, sheep, chickens, pigs and goats to their level of comfort. Overnight accommodations are available at the farm house.
Check out this episode of Lehigh Valley Foodie Finds for a peek at how the cheese was made.
